This App integrates with the Apple Health app (HealthKit), to read health data and showing provide them to the user in a more useful way.

The App can connect to some smart bands for collecting health data (heart rate, steps, distance). It can also connect to a posture device, to access comfort during the “myWork” and “myTime” periods of the day.

The app can provide beautiful PDF reports aggregating health data by time categories, namely, by ”myTime” and “workTime”. The reports can be seen when the user selects a day in the callendar.

The documents can be submitted to the smart4health web platform, which has two-factor authentication. For documents submission, the user must create an account and perform the login. The user can refuse the login process, by pressing the link/button ”Skip it”, inside the Login View.

It means that without the login, user’s data and documents can be seen in the App, but cannot be submitted to the platform.
After a successful login, the user can send the PDF documents to the platform and be seen in the corresponding user’s dashboard.
Data are never shared with third-party entities.

The App is developed as part of the European Union project grant. All ethical issues regarding health data were handled during the project application. Complying with them are pre-conditions for granting funds. The availability of the App is limited to EU countries only.

The application complies to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as the health data is stored inside the smartphone, using a coreData database and shared with HealthKit, and controlled exclusively by the user. Furthermore, the user is able to allow / deny collecting health data (activity tracking) in several ways:
* In the App’s Settings View, a switch named “keep Monitoring” lets the user start/stop activity tracking, namely, steps, calories, distance, among others
* There is a second switch named “Use HealthKit” that allows disabling the access to HealthKit, even if permissions are granted in the phone’s settings. This way, the user is able to deny sharing information with other Apps.
* If the user sets the switch to use HealthKit, but corresponding grants are denied in the health phone’s settings, a message recommending to fix them is provided to the user.
* If the user does not register or login in the Smart4health platform, the App health data will exist locally and is never shared.
